Founded in 1937, CLOG (Central London Outdoor Group) is a friendly group for Londoners who love walking and cycling. We have around 300 members and welcome adults of any age over 18; currently most of us are over 40.

The group is run entirely by its members who organise all events on a voluntary basis. Administration is handled by an elected committee and a small annual membership fee covers basic running costs. This is just £10 for new members; £15 for standard renewals. There is no extra charge for individual events.

Our members organise a variety of outdoor events in London and southeast England, mostly on weekends, and also midweek. Walks and cycle rides usually start from tube or train stations. Our programme includes:

Country walks ranging from 8 to 15 miles, which include options suitable for both seasoned hikers and those keen to build up fitness levels or just enjoy the great outdoors.

City walks exploring London's green spaces or historic sights and streets.

Cycle rides at a leisurely pace in small groups, mostly on quiet roads and traffic-free trails, covering between 20 and 35 miles.

Social events, including a monthly evening out in central London for the whole group. Members arrange other events via CLOG WhatsApp groups.

Trips away are also very popular and we have an enthusiastic team who organise several youth hostel stays every year in scenic areas of the UK. In addition, other members often arrange hotel-based or camping trips, both in this country and Europe, involving walking, cycle-touring or sightseeing.
